John David Breckridge, born in 1945 to the well-known Breckridge family of Bel Air, California became the air to the Breckridge Films company in 1975. Along the way he met Maria Acqua, an up and coming artist from Barcelona, Spain. The two fell in love, got married, and found themselves to be the parents of twins - Johnathan and Jesse in 1981. When the boys were teenagers, John and Maria found out they were expecting again, this time another little boy which would soon go by the name Dakota.
Dakota was always a very spirited and outgoing child. His parents knew right away that he would be perfect for the film industry. However, Dakota wasn't okay with it at all, and he actually didn't want to get into acting - but he had no other choice. Both of his parents wanted him to become a success in film and be the first actor to carry the Breckridge family name. So, they got him an agent and put him into acting lessons, despite their son's protests.
He landed his first role in "Maid In Manhattan" as Ty Ventura just a few weeks after trying out for different roles. After filming his first movie, Dakota still wasn't impressed with being in film, but he couldn't argue against his parents wishes. He was going to have to put up with being in the film industry whether he wanted to be or not, and that was that. After taking a short hiatus from film, he was cast in "Cheaper By The Dozen 2" as Elliot Murtaugh. And later "Gamer" as the role of Simon.
It wasn't until 2011 when he got the role of Scott McCall on Teen Wolf that he decided acting wasn't too bad. It actually had some pretty great perks and Dakota realized that maybe he could make this work for him. Now, he's trying to get more roles for his own benefit and despite all of his issues with the film industry in the past, he's slowly starting to love his craft.
